Cincinnati Union Terminal Featured in Preservation Magazine

 

Two Twelve's work designing signage and wayfinding for the renovated Cincinnati Union Terminal was recently featured on the cover of the National Trust for Historical Preservation's quarterly magazine.

In 2014, the site was included in the Trust's annual list of "America's 11 Most Endangered Historical Places." Five years later, we are honored to have been part of this important restoration project to save this architectural icon and contribute to its future longevity as the Cincinnati Museum Center and Amtrak station.

Navigating Cultures: From Copenhagen to Summer at Two Twelve

If someone were to ask me about the most interesting things I observed while living abroad in Denmark, I think my answers would surprise them. My answers would not have anything to do with food, or the language, but rather, I would say the transportation system and the culture surrounding work. These concepts might sound strange; what could be so fascinating about commutes and work days? But, my mind opened up a lot during my time in Copenhagen and these two activities made me really think about things we perceive as normal. I also began to consider things we observe but do not think twice about, and even might take for granted.

National Book Lover's Day at Two Twelve

In a world where every day seems to mark a celebration - of tacos, lipstick, siblings - we are not ones to absent ourselves from the festivities. It gets even better when one of these days falls on a Summer Friday such as tomorrow, which celebrates National Book Lover’s Day. So, while our emails will read "out of office," we will be enjoying even more hours in the day to delve into a good book.

To recognize the occasion, I’m giving you a brief glimpse into the Two Twelve offices, wherein a large bookshelf houses a small library of fascinating books. From explorations on font types to trips around the globe, our shelves are filled with pages of discovery.

Field Notes: Two Twelve at NYBG

Did you know that in addition to celebrating our namesake every year on February 12th, Two Twelve also enjoys an annual company-wide outing to mark the occasion each summer? This year, the excursion took us to the New York Botanical Garden, a National Historic Landmark for which Two Twelve developed a visual identity in the early 1990’s.
