Historic Battery Park
Historic Battery Park, visited by over four million people a year and the gateway to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, found itself with outdated wayfinding and signage for its park, harbor, restaurants and surrounding downtown sites. Two Twelve introduced comprehensive new visitor information in keeping with both the history of the park and its modern needs. Using the colors of the National Park Service, our easy-to-read wayfinding program includes distinctive finger post directional signs and innovative metal boat slip “flags” that have the numbers cut out to keep the view unobstructed and prevent wind damage. TV and press coverage of the work, resulted in a measurable increase in visitors.
