Medicare Summary Notice
The Medicare Summary Notice is a statement of medical services that is mailed to 36 million Medicare Beneficiaries four times a year. Under the former system, beneficiaries had difficulty navigating the dense Summary Notices and detecting charges that might be fraudulent. As a result, millions of taxpayer dollars were lost every year due to fraud. Two Twelve redesigned these statements so they would be clear and transparent, while still meeting all relevant standards and agency preferences. The revised form received high praise from The New York Times and won a 2012 ClearMark Award of Distinction from the Center for Plain Language.
