Madison Square Garden
Madison Square Garden hosts approximately 400 events every year and welcomes in excess of 3.6 million visitors annually—it is the country’s busiest arena in the country’s busiest city. The Garden has been a premier sports, civic, and entertainment arena and exhibition and meeting hall in New York City since 1879. In 2013 Madison Square Garden completed Phase 1 of a self-funded 1 billion dollar renovation, known as the “Transformation,” to enhance its presence as New York City’s most iconic sports and entertainment facility.
As exterior signage consultants to Madison Square Garden, our scope of work included evaluating the existing signage at the arena and developing an exterior signage strategy that enlivened and enriched the Garden’s visual presence in the city and satisfied internal, stakeholders, and New York City needs. We worked extensively with the Garden to develop and evaluate revenue modeling scenarios to achieve the appropriate balance of revenue opportunities and signage functionality.
