Steelcase Worklife Building
The world’s largest manufacturer of office furniture, Steelcase, Inc., asked Two Twelve to grace its new Manhattan building with signage that would celebrate Steelcase’s innovative designs and pay tribute to the building’s central place in the redevelopment of New York City’s Columbus Circle. On the interior, inspired by the curved forms created by architects Kohn Pedersen Fox, we installed dynamic shaped signs with bold accents that married fiberglass and stainless steel. The unexpected paring spoke to both the company’s creativity and the durability of its products. On the exterior, we designed a stylized map of Manhattan indicating Steelcase at the center of the city’s new Columbus Circle business environment.
